Abstract: In this paper, we show that, for
and
in
the measure
defined on
nonnegative integers by
![h(h+ nc)n-1 - nc- h
m(n) =-----n!----e](files/17.2/HTML/17.2.10.abs4x.png)
defines a probability distribution (called
Generalized Poisson Distribution and abbreviated as
GPD). Furthermore, we show that, for
![m](files/17.2/HTML/17.2.10.abs6x.png)
does not define a probability
measure, and finally we prove that GPD is a particular case of the compound Poisson
distribution.
