Information for incoming students

• The Coordinator of the Programme Erasmus+ at the Mathematical Institute is Dr Motiejus Valiunas (room 306).

• We offer several courses in English at the Mathematical Institute. In addition, several other courses may also be offered in English upon request. Specific information for the year 2025/26 will appear here at a later date.
• The information on the courses offered in English in the Summer Semester 2024/25 is presented below.

Courses in English offered in Summer Semester 2024/25

The following courses at the Mathematical Institute are planned to be taught in English during the Summer Semester 2024/25:

• Econometrics 2;
• Geometry for teachers 1;
• Geometric constructions and elements of Galois theory;
• Mathematical programming and optimization;
• Methods of classification and dimensionality reduction;
• Statistical learning.

In addition, the following courses are planned to taught partially in English – the lectures will be taking place in Polish, but the exercise classes for one group will be held in English:

• Differential equations 1;
• Stochastic modeling.

If you would like to take one of the latter two courses, please contact the corresponding lecturer at the beginning of the semester, who will be able to provide you with a list of literature in English containing the lectured material.

Some of the other courses at the Mathematical Institute may be accessible to Erasmus+ students. If you are interested in any of these courses, please contact the Coordinator at the Mathematical Institute, Dr Motiejus Valiunas. There may also be courses suitable for exchange students of Mathematics in other departments of the University; if you are interested in such a course, please contact the Coordinator at the corresponding department.
