ARRIVAL
If you arrive by plane, you can get from the airport to the city center
either by taxi, or by regular city bus no. 406.
The taxi cost should not exceed 90 PLN on Sunday, and 70 PLN any other day.
Bus no. 406 goes every 20 minutes, its final destination is Central
Railway Station in Wroclaw, and it takes the bus some 30 minutes to get
there.
The bus ticket costs 3 PLN, and you can buy it either at the airport,
or in a ticket machine in the bus (which offers English language interface).
CONFERENCE VENUE
All conference lectures will take place at the Mathematical Institute
of the University of Wroclaw (this is the view of the side facing the
river),
in the Hugo Steinhaus Auditorium (abbreviated: HS).
The institute address is pl. Grunwaldzki 2/4 (map). It is the closest building
to the Grunwaldzki Bridge (Most Grunwaldzki) on the eastern side of the Odra river.
The entrance is somewhat hidden (what seems to be the main entrance, facing
pl. Grunwaldzki street, is permanently closed) - one enters the building
from the side opposite to the river - the entrance faces the Benedykta
Polaka (or just Polaka) street.
FEE/REGISTRATION
Registration will take place in the Mathematical Institute, in the hall in
front
of the Hugo Steinhaus Auditorium, on Monday June 29th, from 9:00 to 9:30.
We apologize for the problems with conference fee payments.
There will be a possibility to pay the fee in cash during the registration.
The fee amount is 100 PLN, and it is waived for students, for invited
plenary
speakers, for employees of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IMPAN), and for
members of the scientific committee of the conference.
PRINTING POSTERS
If you plan to present a poster during the poster session, there should be
no problem
with printing your poster here in Wroclaw. There are some places where you
can do it at no more than 5 minutes distance from the Mathematical
Institute.
The approxiamte cost is no more than 40 PLN for A1,
and no more than 80 PLN for A0 size. If necessary, we can provide
assistance.
Poster session is scheduled for wednesday at 2 p.m., so there will be time
to do such printing.
WI-FI
There is eduroam wi-fi available at the Mathematical Institute.
We will also provide a conference hot-spot (essid:ggt, password:ggt).
LUNCH
All official conference participants will be offered free lunches, from
Monday
till Friday at 1:20 p.m. (right after the morning session of talks).
Lunches will be served in cafeteria "Plastyczna" in the Institute of
Computer
Science, connected to the Mathematical Institute by a passageway.
PICNIC/BANQUET
All official conference participants are invited to the conference banquet,
in the form of a picnic, which will take place on Thursday, July 2nd,
starting
from 6 p.m., in the backyard of the Mathematical Institute of Polish Academy
of Sciences (address: Kopernika 18). This picnic will be a special occasion
to celebrate the 60th birthday of Tadeusz Januszkiewicz.
GUIDED CITY WALK
On Tuesday we invite all participants for a guided tour of the city,
with special focus on the history of the University of Wroclaw.
We are invited for this tour by the vice-rector of the University of
Wroclaw,
prof. Adam Jezierski, a chemist, science popularizer, and enthusiast of the
history of the city of Wroclaw and the university.
The essential part of the tour starts at 2:30 p.m. at the entrance
to the Museum of University of Wroclaw, at pl. Uniwersytecki 1,
but we also plan to walk there, from the Institute,
departing at 2 p.m. (right after lunch).
The tour will finish around 5-5:30 p.m.
