Wireless network access

Access to an authorized wireless network

A computer connected to an eduroam network gets a public IP address. This means that the user does not have to set a proxy in the browser being used.

  • General information:

The eduroam network is an international initiative aimed at enabling joint access to the network for students and researchers from different universities belonging to the project.

In practice, this means that, for example, a student or employee of the Mathematical Institution of the University of Wrocław, during a visit to any other university from the consortium (e.g. in Warsaw, Dresden, more),seeing the eduroam network within reach, can connect to it using their login and password. On the other hand, a researcher from the Warsaw University can authorize himself to the network on the territory of IM UWr in the same way as he did at his home university. Thanks to this, you get the convenience of having one login and password to the network, regardless of where you connect.

When logging in to the eduroam network, a login (numer_indeksu@uwr.edu.pl - students, imie.nazwisko@uwr.edu.pl - employees) and a password from Office 365 are required.

  • How to connect to the eduroam network?

On the page (after logging in with your Office 365 data): https://uni.wroc.pl/eduroam/, programs and certificates are available to log in to the network and the necessary instructions.

We also recommend the http://eduroam.pwr.wroc.pl/ website

  • Connecting to the Eduroam network on Linux:

Download the eduroam installer from the https://cat.eduroam.org/ page. Then the downloaded file should be run (e.g. by typing the command: python nazwa_plikuin the terminal).
