Motiejus Valianus exhibition fri. "Virus Geometry" in the Connector Gallery

In the Connector gallery (between the Mathematical Institute and the Institute of Informatics) you can see an exhibition of works by Motiejus Valianus,an employee of the Mathematical Institute.

The exhibition deals with Motiejus's research on the geometry of viruses conducted under the direction of Prof. Reidun Twarock, who is a world-renowned expert in mathematical biology, won m.in. IMA Gold Medal of the British Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications) in 2018.

Motiejus's exhibited works have artistic value, but there is also non-trivial mathematics behind them and concern research aimed at important applications in biology.
